CIRCLE (Community, Identities and Research through Collaborative Language Education) brings together heritage and intermediate/advanced language learners based in different cities for a joint exploration of cultural identity. CIRCLE defines common areas of exploration and empowers language learners to validate their linguistic skills by facilitating authentic exchanges with local communities.
CIRCLE is a flexible framework for language projects that share these three key elements:
- Community Exploration
By purposefully situating the study of language within a broad and vital local cultural context, CIRCLE encourages students to explore approaches to language learning that rely on interdisciplinary collaborations and inquiries, thus promoting 21st century skills.
